SACCORD predicts low voter turnout for Petauke Central

The Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) has projected a low voter turnout in next month’s Petauke Central Parliamentary by-election.

SACCORD Petauke field officer Morris Mwanza says much as voter and civic education in the constituency will start after the filling of nominations today, Thursday, 28th May, voter apathy is expected because the by-election has come at a time when people busy harvesting their crops.

Mr. Mwanza has told Qfm News by telephone from Petauke that the motivation for people to turn up to vote in the by-election will also be determined by the candidates being fielded by participating political parties.

Mr Mwanza has however, appealed all political parties to remain peaceful and campaign on real issues affecting the people.
