PF defends adoption process

PF CC

Patriotic Front Chairperson for Elections Emmanuel Mpakata says the correct procedure was followed in the adoption process of candidates for the Malambo, Mulobezi and Petauke Central parliamentary by-elections.

Mr. Mpakata says it is unfair for some candidates who were not adopted to allege that the adoption process was not free and fair.

He says with regards to Petauke Central candidate Dora Siliya, all other candidates withdrew at the district and provincial levels leaving her alone and that the PF Central Committee had no choice but adopt her.

Mr Mpakata explains to QFM News that the PF believes in transparency and democracy and that all the three candidates who have been adopted by the party were adopted in the correct manner.

Mr. Mpakata has also dismissed the assertion by some old PF members who have argued that M r Siliya is a new member to contest on the PF ticket.

He says all members are equal regardless of how long they have been in the party.

And Mr. Mpakata says PF members who have refused to recognize the newly elected executives at Ward, district and constituency levels should understand that they were elected following all the necessary procedures.
