Handouts will not help you – UPND tells PF

The opposition UPND has advised the ruling Patriotic Front not to use handouts if it’s truly interested in ensuring people from all regions feel part of Zambia.

In an apparent reaction to the recent donation of an assortment of food stuffs by PF Vision Ambassadors to a special school of the Blind in Magoye in Mazabuka District, UPND Livingstone district Spokesperson Nato Halwabala says ruling PF should realize that the people of Southern Province believe in human power to earn their living.

Mr Halwabala has told Qfm News by telephone this entails that the kind gesture of handouts especially in opposition strongholds will still not be appreciated.

Mr. Halwabala says the people of Southern Province for example will only appreciate if they are supported in a way that they remain self reliant.

He says this is why UPND has been advocating for social development in the country because it believes that infrastructure development can follow afterwards.
