The Grand Coalition on a people driven constitution says it is sad that Zambia commemorated African Freedom Day yesterday without a clear roadmap on enacting a new constitution.

Grand Coalition Eastern Province Chairperson Maxson Nkhoma says this was an opportunity for the government to give a clear direction of enacting a people driven constitution.

Mr. Nkhoma says the freedom fighters fought so hard for the political liberation having in mind that Zambians will be making decisions that will benefit most people unlike what is being witnessed under the PF government.

He says freedom fighters should not take it to heart that the PF government is reluctant to deliver a new constitution but continue hoping that one day the country will have a new constitution.

Mr. Nkhoma, who is also Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) Eastern Province Coordinator, notes with concern at the rate at which the African Freedom Day is losing its value due to the lack of affirmative action to uphold the integrity of freedom fighters.
