Chief Sairi of the Ngoni Speaking of Chipata District has commended Government for the electrification programme of developmental projects in his chiefdom.
Chief Sairi says he is happy that the Government has electrified a number of projects in his chiefdom.
The traditional leader has also expressed confidence that Government will do everything possible to light up various houses in his chiefdom.
He stresses that frankly speaking the move is a step in the right direction because development is what his subjects have been looking forward for a long time.
Chief Sairi also adds that his chiefdom was usually lacking water during the rainy season adding that people share water with domestic animals.
He has since urged the people not to sell all their maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) but leave some for consumption more especially with the anticipation of hunger.
Chief Sairi has further appealed to the Government to rehabilitate the houses and classrooms at Sairi primary school.
