Zambia has today joined the rest of Africa in commemorating Africa Freedom Day which falls today the 25th of May annually.
This year’s Africa Freedom Day is being commemorated under the theme: “Celebrating 50 years of our national existence and accelerating socio-economic transformation”.
And President Edgar Lungu this morning led service chiefs and foreign dignitaries in laying wreaths at the Freedom Statue in Lusaka.
President Lungu who last night in his national address noted the importance of reflecting on the challenges the Zambia has been facing as the country joins the rest of the continent in celebrating Africa freedom Day,preceded to State House for the Investiture ceremony.
By post time the investiture ceremony at state house was still underway.
