Kabwata Constituency 2016 Member of Parliament aspiring candidate Clement Tembo has urged the church to use the African freedom day to unite the country.

Mr. Tembo has told QFM in a walk in interview that the church should bring together politicians citing that in a long time, there has not been a national reconciliation but the church should preach love and reconciliation amongst politicians and the people of Zambia as a whole.

He notes that currently, there is too much division and differences on so many issues but that politicians should come together and learn from freedom fighters noting that if the freedom fighters did not work together, they would have not liberated the country.

Mr. Tembo says the African freedom day is one such opportunity that the church can use looking at its meaning.

He adds that it does not make sense to celebrate the African freedom day when the people cannot unite themselves and hence the need for the church to come in and help unite the nation.

Mr. Tembo further states that the African day should not be politicized but should be commemorated as it deserves.
