Chief Mukobela of the Ila speaking people in Namwala says there is need to appreciate and recognize the role played by freedom fighters in liberating Africa as the country joins the rest the of the continent in celebrating the African freedom day.
Chief Mukobela says if not for the freedom fighters, people have no idea where they would have been now citing that some would not have made it to where they are now.
The traditional leader notes that without the role played by the freedom fighter in liberating the country, people cannot be enjoying the freedom that they are enjoying now.
He says freedom fighters should be honored and respected not only during the African freedom day but every day.
Chief Mukobela has further called on politicians and the people of Zambia as a whole to respect and celebrate the day in a manner befitting the day.
