LWSC assures Lusaka of constant water supply

The Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) says it has put modalities in place to ensure that there is constant water supply in the city in view of the dry spell experienced in Lusaka province during the just ended rainy season.

Company Marketing and Public Relations Manager Topsy Sikalinda says the water utility company has already started putting measures to mitigate the impact of the dry spell.

Mr. Sikalinda says this is why the construction of the water treatment plant in Kafue will commence as soon as possible as one way of ensuring that there is constant water supply in Lusaka province.

He states that the project which will cost the company US$150 million will bring in 50, 000 liters of water per day.

Mr Sikalinda says the company will also construct a water pipeline from Kafue River into Lusaka which will also help in ensuring that the residents have sufficient water at all cost.
