The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) has charged stakeholders arguing that the period to conclude negotiations for improved conditions of service for civil servants is unacceptable are not reasoning well.

FFTUZ National Women’s Chairperson Charity Kampamba says when lifting the wage freeze President Edgar Lungu made it clear that negotiations should be concluded before December.

Ms Kampamba has told QFM News in an interview that the period to conclude negotiations lies in the hands of those who are in the bargaining unit.

She says this is the more reason why the people in the bargaining unit should speed up the process so that this issue of the wage freeze can be a thing of the past.

Ms Kampamba says workers should simply wait and see what their negotiators will bargain for on their behalf instead of resorting to protests as suggested by some unions.
