Opposition Green Party president Peter Sinkamba says Zambia has the potential to improve its agriculture production.
Mr. Sinkamba is of the view that it is easy for the country to be outstanding in agriculture if good policies are in place.
He has reiterated crop diversification still remains key which government through the Ministry Of Agriculture should continue educating farmers on.
Mr. Sinkamba notes that farmers should not rely only on maize production but should try other crops which can help improve on the variety that the country can produce.
He states that this is particularly that most parts of Zambia have rich and fertile soil that can be used by innovative farmers to plant other crops and be able to export to other countries.
The opposition leader thinks that doing can also help reduce the high poverty levels in most rural parts of the country.
He has since appealed to The Ministry of Agriculture to continue engaging and educating farmers on the importance of crop diversification for the benefit of the country.
