Govt is ready to dialogue with transporters – Mukanga

Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga says government is ready to dialogue with transporters on issues affecting the transport sector.

Mr. Mukanga notes that though there has been an outcry on the increased fuel prices government does understands the challenges being faced by transporters countrywide hence the need for dialogue with aim of finding solutions that will benefit both parties.

He stresses that his Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy is determined to finding strategies that will work in the interest of transporters across the country.

He however notes that is on the other hand imperative for transporters to always move a step further in ensuring that they change the way they operate amid economic hardships.

Mr. Mukanga states this is especially that the Patriotic Front administration attaches great importance to ensuring that transporters operate in a favorable environment at times.

He has since assured transporters of government’s readiness to lend an ear to their concerns.
