EFZ counsels political parties ahead of June polls

Political parties taking part in next month’s Parliamentary by-elections have been called upon to exert their energies on issues that contribute to national development and good governance.

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) says there are many issues that the people of Zambia are facing on a daily basis which can be important areas for debates among different political parties.

Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza states that currently political parties cannot run out of ideas of what to talk about in their campaigns when the country already has the issues of the new constitution, good governance, poverty levels as well as the issue of fuel.

He says the EFZ thinks that political parties should mature to a point of debating such issues as opposed to engaging in politics of personal attacks.
