Barcelona defender Jeremy Mathieu is on track to be available for the second leg of his side’s Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Mathieu missed the first leg of the tie, which Barcelona won 3-0, due to an Achilles problem. He was also sidelined for Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Real Sociedad on Saturday, which saw the Catalans move four points clear at the top of the La Liga standings, with second-placed Real Madrid dropping points against Valencia.
However, the France international seemed to be moving freely during a training session on Sunday.
Should Mathieu return to fitness, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique will have to decide whether to include the defender in the starting line-up or whether to stick with Javier Mascherano.
