Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emerine Kabanshi

Government has released an initial K7.5 million to Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities to address several challenges they are facing.

Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emerine Kabanshi says she has directed the board to come up with a transparent modality on how the funds will be released in phases.

Ms Kabanshi says the money is meant for the re-employment of retrenched workers who were retrenched in December 2013.

She says the money will also be used for the payment of terminal benefits for the retired Zambia Council for handicapped.

The Minister adds that the money will also be used for the recapitalization and revamping of farm centers among other things.
