Eastern Province Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo is happy that farmers in the Province have started receiving farming inputs in readiness for the 2015/2016 farming season.
Mr. Kasolo has told QFM News via telephone that trucks loaded with fertilizer from Nitrogen Chemicals of Zambia (NCZ) have arrived in the province and farmers are receiving the inputs.
Mr. Kasolo states that government is determined to ensure that all farmers receive the farming inputs on time in view of the bad rainfall pattern experienced in the country during the 2014/2015 farming season.
He says Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda instructed that the farming inputs be distributed to farmers as soon as they arrive so that farmers have enough time to plan for their farming activities.
Mr. Kasolo has since assured farmers in Eastern Province that they will receive their farming inputs on time.
