UPND vice president for politics Canisius Banda has advised Zambians against being vindictive.

Dr. Banda says vindictiveness or vengeance should not be entertained because it takes the country backwards.

He says whenever political parties have been given the opportunity to lead, they are supposed to show the people the way and facilitate their emancipation from poverty, darkness and ignorance.

Dr Banda has told Qfm News by telephone that this is what will lead to development upon which emphasis should be placed.

The UPND vice president says Zambians should focus on finding better ways of achieving the goal of ending poverty, ignorance and disease by working in unity, peace and harmony.

Dr. Banda points out that Zambia can learn something from countries like Japan and Singapore which are not as resourceful as Zambia, yet they are ranked among the top most developed countries in the world.

He notes that the prominence in this case is on human development which requires people respecting one another, being law abiding, diligent as well as people working together in unity.
