Your duty is owed to the people- Mungo reminds MPs

Members of Parliament (MPs) have been reminded to use the time during which Parliament is on recess to be more proactive in dealing with issues affecting people in their respective constituencies.

The Parliamentarians have been reminded that while Parliament is on recess, they remain the bridge between the people and the government and therefore should not allow a situation where people from their constituencies begin to feel neglected by the government.

Aspiring Munali Member of Parliament Patrick Mungo is concerned by the continued complaints by people from some constituencies who have not been visited by their elected representatives for them to understand the challenges they are facing.

Mr. Mungo says lawmakers owe their positions in Parliament to the electorates that voted for them, and that they have an obligation to make regular visits to their constituencies especially when they are not attending Parliament.
