ZESCO still investigating countrywide outage

ZESCO Limited says it is still investigating the cause of last night’s power outage in eight ZESCO Engineersof the country’s ten provinces.

Spokesperson Henry Kapata has told QFM News that preliminary investigations have established that the cause of the power blackout in the country was caused by a system disturbance which resulted in Kafue and Kariba North Bank operations to go off.

Mr Kapata says power has been restored in Lusaka, Kafue, Kabwe and some parts of Kitwe, while restoration of power to other affected parts of the country is still going on.

He adds that some transformers have been damaged due to the power outage experienced in some parts of the country last night.

Last night most parts of the country were plunged in total darkness from around 19:40 Hours with only Western and Southern Provinces having power.
