UPND is being ungrateful to urge workers to shun Labour Day – Kambwili

Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili says calls by the opposition UPND urging workers to shun Labour Day celebrations go to show how ungrateful they are to the people of Zambia.

Mr. Kambwili has told Journalists in Lusaka today that since the PF came to power in 2011, the UPND has been inciting people to shun national public events describing them as prophets of Doom.

Mr. Kambwili says the whole essence of the UPND urging people to shun national events is to see such events flop.

He says the UPND is a political party that is aspiring to be in government but that is not concerned about the welfare of the people by suggesting things that will not help the people in anyway.

He adds that Labour Day is a day for workers and government to interact so that workers tell government their problems, wondering how government will know the challenges facing workers if they shun event.

The Chief Government Spokesperson has since appealed to workers across the country to ignore calls for them to shun Labour Day celebrations but instead turn out in large numbers for the event.
