PROTUZ tips govt ahead of Labour Day

The Professional Teachers Union of Zambia (PROTUZ) has called on government to tell the nation how they intend to address the challenges the teachers are facing as the country commemorates Labour Day on 1st May.

PROTUZ General Secretary Albert Muyembe says teachers have for a long time been facing a lot of challenges which have remained unattended to.

Mr Muyembe says government should begin reflecting on how to tackle the problems the teachers are facing and present the solutions during the Labour Day commemoration.

He says teachers play a very important role in the nation and thus they need to be appreciated and motivated by way of addressing their challenges.

Mr. Muyembe has further encouraged teachers to turn out in large number and celebrate Labour Day, stating that their contribution to the development of the nation cannot be underemphasized.
