The Grand Coalition on a people driven constitution in Eastern Province says contradicting statements coming from government officials on the constitution are leaving stakeholders in disarray.

Grand Coalition Eastern Province Chairman Maxson Nkhoma has told QFM News in an interview that Government should desist from the usual lip service talk on the constitution.

Mr. Nkhoma has also urged President Edgar Lungu to walk his talk on the constitution issue and ensure that his government should give the people the constitution through a referendum without any further delays.

He says the Grand Coalition is not sure of which roadmap the president was talking about during his speech in Livingstone about the constitution because the one released earlier by the ministry of justice is not being followed.

He adds that there has been a lot of contradicting ministerial statements on the constitution which he says is confusing stakeholders on what the official government position is.
