President Lungu asked to relieve Wandi

MMD National Youth Secretary Bowman Lusambo says President Edgar Lungu should with immediate effect relieve Anti Corruption Commission Director General Rosewin Wandi of his duties following the decision by the ACC to clear the President’s Special Assistant for Politics Kaizer Zulu of all corruption allegations leveled against him.

Mr Lusambo says Ms Wandi’s continued stay in office will undermine the fight against corruption and erode the gains the country has made in bringing down the scourge.

He says the manner the ACC handled Mr Zulu’s much publicized investigation makes her position at the ACC untenable, accusing her of close links to the cartel.

Mr Lusambo states that the number of leakages of confidential correspondence between the Commission and State House is alarming and brings into question the levels of integrity in the people entrusted to run such a sensitive institution.

He says the people that instigated the ill conceived ACC investigation were mainly interested in embarrassing President Lungu by linking him to the allegations.

Mr Lusambo says President Lungu is busy working to develop the nation and that his attention should not be distracted from the real issues.
