Govt called upon to take relief to Kazungula

Government has been called upon to seriously to consider taking relief food to Kazungula district in view of the hunger situation that has hit the area.

Former Kazungula Council Chairman Elias Siamibila has told Qfm News from Kazungula that there is a general assumption that food in terms of the maize stock that is available in the district may not last up to August this year.

Mr. Siamibila who is also Nyawa Ward Councilor says this is especially that even the harvest that some people were expecting to have this year has been destroyed as a result of the poor rainfall pattern received this year.

He says this is why he thinks that government should come to the aid of the people of Kazungula District before the situation gets worst.
