St Mary’s are Zamspell it competition winners

ZAMTEL-MDSt Mary’s Catholic School in Lusaka are the overall winners of the Zamtel “Zamspell it” schools spelling competition season one.

Speaking during the prize presentation ceremony today Zamtel Chief Executive Officer Mubanga Mwanakatwe says Zamtel is impressed with the performance of all the schools that participated in the season one competition.

Mr Mwanakatwe notes that Zamspell it has been an interesting game which has helped pupils to improve on their reading culture.

He says Zamtel will next month get the “Zamspell it” season two competition underway.

And Education deputy Permanent Secretary Christine Mayondi has congratulated the wining pupils for their brilliance and ability to exceptionally represent their schools.

Mrs Mayondi says government will endeavor to encourage programmes aimed at improving the reading culture in schools.

She has since commended Zamtel for the investment as it is touching all corners of the country.

Meanwhile St Mary’s school deputy head teacher Patricia Banda has commended Zamtel for the kind gesture to give the school 15 computers after the school’s pupils emerged winners of the Zamspell it competition.
