Republican President Edgar Lungu has been called upon to quickly intervene in the reported maneuvers to oust PF Secretary General Davis Chama from his position.SACCORD ED

The Southern African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (SACCORD) is worried that if President Lungu who is also the ruling party’s president does not intervene quickly history will repeat itself.

Executive Director Boniface Cheembe recalls that it is not long ago that the country was troubled by intraparty wrangles perpetrated by youths who wanted former PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba removed from office.

Mr. Cheembe has told Qfm News that his organization hopes that the country will not have to go through a similar situation that brought business to a standstill.

He says SACCORD believes that if Zambia is to continue addressing the challenges that people are facing it needs a united ruling party.

Mr. Cheembe says this is the reason why his organization is calling upon President Lungu to take prompt action and ensure that no further intraparty conflicts arise in the PF.
