Govt is fulfilling the airwaves promise -Tembo

Information and Broadcasting Services Deputy Minister Forrie Tembo says government is fulfilling its promise to open up the airwaves to allow television and radio stations with capacity to expand to other parts of the county to do so.

Mr. Tembo says the PF government’s agenda is to enhance the free flow of information to the public.

He says since the PF came into office, the country has seen an increase in the issuance of licenses for Television and Radio stations.

Mr Tembo says currently, Zambia has over 72 radio station and about twelve TV stations across the country an indication that the PF is opening up the air waves.

Mr. Tembo adds that very soon the provincial TV station will be opened in Solwezi and while the President will be commissioning the provincial TV station in Choma District of Southern Province.
