Voting- age youths urged to take advantage of mobile NRC issuance

Young African Leader’s Initiative (YALI) has encouraged young people in the county who have attained the voting age to obtain their National Registration Cards (NRCs) during the mobile issuance to enable them participate in voting in the 2016 elections.

YALI President Andrew Nthewewe has also called on the government to ensure there is transparency in the mobile issuance of NRCs.

He says young people are the majority in the country and are the future leaders of any developing country, hence they should take it upon themselves to ensure that they obtain National Registration Cards.

Mr Nthewewe adds that government should also involve the relevant stakeholders in the sensitization of the general public on the mobile issuance of the National Registration Cards in order for more people to be issued with the national identity document.
