Govt advised not to ignore concerns over 2015 poor rainfall

Chief Chibwika of the Lunda speaking people of Mwinilunga District has advised government not to ignore concerns of stakeholders following the poor rainfall pattern experienced in the country.

Chief Chibwika says farmers in his chiefdom are worried that the harvest for the 2014/2015 farming season may not be good.

Chief Chibwika explains that the rains started on a good note in October, but that along the way the rainfall pattern changed.

He says there is no doubt that the yields will be affected posing a threat of hunger on the people.

Chief Chibwika says it is for this reason that he feels government should start working on modalities of ensuring that people will not go hungry in the country.
