Natural health therapist blames sicknesses in Zambia to lack of health information

Natural Health Therapist Patrick Nga’ndwe has observed that the Zambian people are susceptible to sickness because they lack information on prevention and causes of disease.

Dr Ng’andwe who is president and founder of the hydrotherapy and health education association international based in Kitwe notes that the nation is very much in need of health education which in the final analysis will make a huge reduction on various health related issues.

He says health education will also help government make significant reduction on drug expenditure, stating health is wealth and that the richest country without good health policies is the poorest.

Dr Ng’andu states that the establishment by government of a health desk at the national broadcaster ZNBC for the sole purpose of health education is commendable.

He says it is hoped that the desk will do everything possible among other things to educate the nation on the adverse effects of smoking and alcohol abuse which have reached alarming levels in the country.

Dr Ng’andu adds that it is further hoped that the health desk established at the national broadcaster will not be dominated by medical practitioners, but should accommodate even those of who experts in natural health for the good of the nation.
