HH urges reduced cost production for Agric sector

Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has urged the PF government to work out modalities of reducing the high cost of production in the agriculture sector.

Mr. Hichilema told journalists this afternoon at the ongoing 2015 Agritech Expo Zambia in Chisamba that the PF government has totally neglected farmers in the country.

Mr. Hichilema says a lot of farmers are complaining and are not comfortable with the policies the Patriotic Front has introduced.

He says it is for this reason he has been advocating that he has a proper plan of reducing the cost of production in the agriculture sector.

The UPND Leader states that it is a shame that the government has been boasting that they paid all farmers who supplied maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) on time when some farmers only received their money early this year.

And Mr. Hichilema also took some time to visit some marketeers at Mwayasunka Market in Chisamba District and interacted with the people at the market.

Mr. Hichilema after listening to the challenges the people are facing in the area called for the need to remove the PF government in 2016.
