Political scientist Alex Ng’oma has encouraged the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) not to be discouraged with the outcome of Tuesday’s parliamentary by-elections won by the ruling Patriotic Front.

Dr Ng’oma says the UPND should focus on engaging more with the grassroots.

He notes that the melting support of the former ruling party MMD is working to the advantage of the ruling Patriotic Front as evidenced by the outcome of the by-elections.

Dr. Ngoma says the UPND can still do better and that all they need to do is to do their home work and the people will accept them.

Dr. Ngoma has also cautioned the Patriotic Front against getting over excited with the outcome of the by-elections.

He says the ruling party should instead focus on delivering the promises they made to the people during campaigns.
