Train runs over Lusaka man

A Zambia Railways train in Lusaka has run over a man between Ngwerere and Kabanana townships.

The unidentified man believed to be aged between 30 and 35 has since died.

Zambia Police spokesperson Charity Chanda said the incident happened this morning.

Ms Chanda says when the police rushed to the scene the man was still alive but had lost both legs and died as he was being taken to the hospital by police officers.

Ms Chanda said investigations into the matter have been instituted to establish whether the deceased was beaten and thrown on the rail line or it was a mere accident.
