Govt cheered by Cholera free rainy season

Community Development, Mother and Child Health Minister Emerine Kabanshi says the country has not recorded any Cholera cases so far in view of the rainy season.

Ms Kabanshi has attributed this to the tireless efforts her ministry has put in to prevent any outbreak of communicable diseases.

Ms Kabanshi explains that health inspectors from her ministry are on the ground to ensure that the people in communities are well sensitized about good hygiene.

She says the inspectors have also been engaging school head teachers, traditional leaders and marketeers on improving sanitary conditions.

Ms Kabanshi has told QFM News in an interview that the efforts being made by her have resulted in the country not recording any cholera cases this year so far compared to last year.

Ms Kabanshi has since encouraged relevant stakeholders to keep up the good work of supplementing government efforts by encouraging communities and the general public to adhere to high hygiene standards at all times.
