The Bemba Royal Establishment (BRE) has expressed concern over the poor rainfall pattern that has been experienced in Kasama during the 2014/2015 farming season.
BRE Spokesperson Washanga Impika Shalubemba has told QFM News via telephone that the establishment is worried that the poor rainfall for the 2014/2015 farming season might greatly affect the harvest.
Washanga says some maize fields in Kasama are withering due to poor rains being experienced during the 2014/2015 farming season.
He laments that the rains started on a good note and farmers in the chiefdom were excited things changed along the way.
He explains that a lot of crops have been damaged due to the drought that was experienced in the area.
