Zambia Youths Association in the Fight against Corruption (ZYAFAC) says it will start awarding deserving Zambians who are contributing to the fight against corruption.
ZYACAZ Executive Director Rickson Kanema notes that despite intervention tools put in place to fight corruption such as the Auditor General’s Report, the Corruption Perception Index among others, corruption has continued to be on the increase in the country.
Mr. Kanema explains that his institution will allow other institutions to nominate award deserving people who they feel have done tremendously well in fighting corruption.
He states that the awards to be known as Integrity Awards will be awarded every year on special occasions such as Independence Day, Labour Day and other important national days.
Mr. Kanema says the first deserving people will be awarded this year on December 15th during the commemoration of World International Day of Corruption.
