State to reduce cost of doing business

Government says it is doing everything possible to ensure the cost of doing business in the country is reduced.

Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister Margaret Mwanakatwe says government is aware that the high cost of doing business affects both foreign and local investors therefore it is important that the cost is reduced as soon as possible.

Ms. Mwanakatwe notes that one of the measures being put in place is streamlining the registration and licensing process for setting up a business.

She notes that government needs to take a holistic approach to ensure that local investors are also encouraged to invest in the economy as it looks to reduce the cost of doing business.

Ms Mwanakatwe states that her ministry wants to ensure that there is a robust local business investment.

Ms. Mwanakatwe further states that government will continue to promote partnerships between local and foreign entrepreneurs.

She has reiterated government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to flourish.
