NCC impressed by compliance to new payment system

The National Council for Construction (NCC) has is impressed by the compliance rate by contractors to its newly introduced bank payment system for license renewal which it has put at 80 percent.

NCC Executive Director Charles Mushota has told Qfm News that most of the contractors registered with the Council have found the new payment system more convenient.

Mr. Mushota has also disclosed that the NCC has further plans to introduce the online renewal of licenses, registration, upgrade and other applications for contractors.

The bank payment system where a contractor that wants to make payment deposits money in the NCC account and only produces a transaction receipt for proof of payment was introduced this year with the view of curbing corruption and ending direct handling of money.
