PROTUZ urges govt to provide learning materials in schools

PupilsThe Professional Teachers Union of Zambia (PROTUZ) says there is urgent need for Government to ensure schools around the country have sufficient learning and teaching materials for a positive impact to be realized.

PROTUZ Secretary General Albert Muyembe says less teaching and learning materials hinder the provision of quality education hence government should promptly look into the matter especially in rural areas.

He notes that the lack of teaching and learning materials is what has been contributing to the poor performance of pupils in the recent past.

Mr. Muyembe stresses that if schools have teaching and learning materials, it helps both the pupils and teachers move faster in their syllabuses and facilitates the provision of quality education.

He has encouraged government through the ministry of education to this year ensure that school around the country have all the materials that they need to provide quality education to the pupils which will in turn will work to the benefit of the nation.
