A Catholic Priest from Mpika Diocese in Muchinga Province has urged politicians to use this Easter period to reconcile with each other and unite as one to foster development in the country.

Saint Andrews Assistant Parish Priest in Charge Father Jeff Mutale has told QFM News by telephone that Jesus Christ came so that the people must change their kind of behavior and do things that please others.

Father Mutale says politicians should take advantage of this opportunity and show the nation that they too can promote reconciliation.

He says a lot of people are looking forward to seeing politicians promoting love and preach peace and unity.

He adds that Zambia is a Christian nation and that politicians must be seen to show that indeed Zambia is a country for God by doing that which is right before God and men.

Father Mutale explains that Jesus came to change the mindset of the people saying he sacrificed his life to die for the people so that they can change for the better.

Father Mutale says negative vices such as corruption, drug pilferage and other issues should not be promoted if the country is to record economic growth.
