Chief Mukobela of the Ila speaking people of Namwala District has implored government to invite investors to begin investing more in rural areas of the country.
Chief Mukobela says he is saddened that despite there being many investment opportunities in rural areas such opportunities are not being noticed.
He says the investment opportunities that lie in rural areas have the potential to create job for the people and can help reduce the high levels of poverty both in urban and rural areas.
The traditional leader says investing in rural areas will also make it easy for government to develop rural areas as well as help reduce the urban population as many people will be motivated to move to rural areas.
He states that with the road networks that the Patriotic Front government has put up, it will be easy to go and invest in rural areas hence both local and foreign investors should take interest in investing in rural areas.
