Its time Zambians begun benefiting from economic growth – JCTR

Fr Chiti

The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) says it’s high time Zambians begun experience the benefits of economic growth such as a stable democratic dispensation, a positive economic environment and a good electoral process.

JCTR Director Fr. Leonard Chiti says the high poverty and unemployment levels in the country are unacceptable 50 years after independence.

Fr. Chiti says the PF government under the leadership of President Lungu should urgently work towards addressing the challenges the people of Zambia are facing having campaigned on the basis of improving the living standards of the people.

He says government should not simply make pronouncements but act on the pronouncements they are making.

Fr. Chiti further states that the issues in the mining sector, the depreciation of the Kwacha, and the enactment of a new constitution among others are some of the things the pf government should quickly address.
