CCZ preaches reconciliation during Easter

The Council of Churches in Zambia (CCZ) has called on Zambians to put aside any differences be it political, tribal or personal and pursue reconciliation to embrace one another as they celebrate Easter.

CCZ Secretary General Rev. Suzanne Matale in a Easter message says Easter period is a time of reflection, reconciliation and embracing one another as a sign of love which the Lord himself expressed by sending his only son Jesus Christ to die for humanity.

Rev Matale reminds all Zambians that this period comes with an opportunity for each and every individual to reflect on their relationship with God and with one another especially in light of the post-election atmosphere.

She says as Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ,his resurrection should as interpret into new beginnings for believers as individuals and the country in the quest of moving forward for the betterment of livelihoods.

Reverend Matale has advised the people of Zambia to observe the Easter period with high caution of dangers that might arise associated with the excitement such as substance abuse.

She says CCZ appeals to all Zambians to refrain from all activities that will endanger their lives by focusing on living a Christ like life.

Meanwhile Former Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) Executive Director Bishop Paul Mususu has advised motorists in the country to be mindful of other road users during the Easter Weekend.

Bishop Mususu says Easter is not a period for careless beer drinking but a time to reflect on the love God has for his people.

Bishop Mususu adds that Easter is a period for people to reconcile with each other and open a new leaf in life.

The former EFZ Executive Director has emphasized that this is the time for people to be sober and show love towards one another.
