YALI urges govt-private sector partnership on unemployment

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has called on the government to partner with the private sector on the critical issue of unemployment in the country.

YALI President Andrew Nthewewe has told QFM News that the issue of unemployment in the country needs to be addressed urgently.

M r Nthewewe notes that unemployment in the country is not as a result of the employment freeze imposed on the public service but is a long standing issue.

He states that even when government lifts the recruitment freeze not everyone will be absorbed in the public service.

Mr. Nthewewe has further called on the government to quickly put measures in place to ensure that as many young people as possible are employed.
