Mr Nkomoki has also attributed the delayed start of the rains in most parts of Zambia and prolonged dry spells in the month of March in North-western, Western, Southern and Eastern provices as well as some parts of Lusaka and Central provinces to the main rain bringing mechanism being weak at those times and the forecasted weak El-Nino during the period.

He says as at 10th March,2015 and based on the above stated negative indicators,North-western,Western,Southern and Eastern provinces including some parts of Lusaka Central provinces have experienced below normal rainfall.
