Political parties counseled to simplify manifestoes

The Anti Voter Apathy Project (AVAP) has counseled political parties to simplify their manifestos to enable electorates make informed decisions.

AVAP is asking political parties to consider translating their manifestos in widely understood local languages.

Executive Director Richwell Mulwani notes that his organization is of the view that translating party manifestos in various local languages will also enhance integrity in the country’s electoral process.

Mr. Mulwani says AVAP also thinks that political parties can further inspire public confidence if they begin to explain how they intend to achieve their programs and policies enshrined in their manifestos.

He says such outreach to electorates is what his organization additionally thinks can help political parities grow their support base.
