FFTUZ women commend Lungu for revising retirement age

The Federation of Free Trade Unions of Zambia (FFTUZ) women have commended President Edgar Lungu for making changes to the retirement age law.

FFTUZ women’s national chairperson charity Kampamba says President Lungu’s decision to allow for three options in the country’s the retirement age legislation is a welcome move because it is not mandatory that a work will have to be retired at particular age.

Mrs. Kampamba notes that this will give time to workers to choose on which option they are comfortable with on which to retire.

She has since encouraged affiliate unions of her union to begin sensitizing their members on the changes of the retirement age law.
