YALI urges govt to embrace new ideas

The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) has urged government to embrace new innovative ideas to tackle the increasing unemployment numbers among young people.

YALI President Andrew Nthewewe has observed that the sad part is that the current economic status does not provide employment opportunities to University Graduates and other young people with different skills.

Mr. Nthewewe notes that it is also clear that young people have not been provided with opportunities to thrive through internships to realize their potential.

He say there is need for government to begin thinking outside the box and come up with a deliberate policy to enable young people get exposed and gain the necessary experience.

Mr Nthewewe stresses that the majority young people have the skills and all that they need is for government to create a conducive environment for them to show case of what they are able to do.

Mr. Nthewewe has since appealed to government to come up with a proper legislative framework that will allow young people to be given an opportunity to show case their talent.
