Zambia Youths Association in the Fight against Corruption (ZYAFAC) has implored public officers to resist the temptation of engaging in corruption as this has the potential to dent the country’s image.
ZYAFAC Executive Director Rickson Kanema says it is unfortunate that some government officers have continued to talk and sing about corruption without taking positive steps to combat the vice.
Mr. Kanema notes that very few individuals and public officers have taken the issue of corruption seriously by involving law enforcement officers whenever they come across suspected acts of corruption.
He adds that it is high time the public is more aware of the institutions that are mandate to deal with issues of corruption so that they do not waste time to report such cases.
Mr Kanema adds that his organization will continue to work closely with the public and other institutions in ensuring corruption is not tolerated.
