The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has counseled the media to endeavour to verifying facts before publishing or broadcasting news to the public.

LAZ president George Chisanga says the media should strive to as much as possible be objective in their reporting.

Mr Chisanga says the association believes that the Zambian media has been active and has kept people holding public office in check, but that the only area they are not doing well is balancing the information they presenting to the public.

Mr. Chisanga has told Qfm News in an interview that his association would like the media to begin to get the side of professionals with command on particular topics when they are balancing articles they want to release to the public.

He says this way people in the country will have a full understanding of issues as opposed to being subjected to one sided stories.
